'Getting a Signal' Eclectic transmissions from the artistic mind of Sam Tuomi
 
Sam Tuomi is an Iowa artist by way of Texas, trained at The University of South Florida in Tampa. 
Focusing mainly on Film production, this artist incorporates photography, transfer print making and digital creations into his continually expanding palette. 

Film works include two 16 mm shorts entitled “Raw Energy” and “B.J. Dick,” as well as the independent feature “Tasty.” Several short films were also produced for the Des Moines Project which Sam co-founded in 2003.

As the current Des Moines Producer of the 48 Hour Film Project , he aims to continue the expansion of the Des Moines Independent Film Scene. Sam has produced this international film event for the past two years. 

Artistic influences include Gregg Araki, Andy Warhol, Jack Kerouac, and Jasper Johns, Trey Parker & Matt Stone.
